Yetter Coleman LLP is pleased to announce that Shannon N. Smith has joined the firm as an associate in our Houston office.
Shannon focuses on complex commercial and energy litigation, particularly in upstream and midstream oil and gas sectors. Her experience includes contract disputes, trade secret claims, legal malpractice defense, antitrust litigation, and fiduciary duty matters. She has contributed to significant trial successes, including a complete defense verdict in a $40 million trade secrets case and an eight-figure award in an international arbitration. She previously practiced at Gibbs & Bruns LLP and clerked for Judge Sim Lake in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Shannon earned her J.D. with high honors from The University of Texas School of Law, where she was a Chancellor-at-Large and member of the Order of the Coif. She holds a B.A. summa cum laude in English Literature from Texas A&M University.
Admitted to practice in Texas and various federal courts, Shannon has been recognized as one of the “Lawdragon 500X-The Next Generation” for 2024 and named among the “Ones to Watch” in Commercial Litigation by Best Lawyers in America for 2024-2025.
