Yetter Coleman LLP is pleased to welcome Julia C. Risley as a lateral associate in the firm’s commercial litigation practice group.
Risley brings strong experience in putative insurance class actions, Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act claims and anti-Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation motions.
After graduating from law school, Risley clerked for The Honorable Priscilla Richman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She is a former clerk for The Honorable Dabney L. Friedrich of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, summer associate for Gibbs & Bruns LLP, and law clerk at the Bank Advisory Division of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for the U.S. Department of the Treasury. She comes to Yetter Coleman from Susman Godfrey.
Risley holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she graduated cum laude and was the executive editor of the Harvard Business Law Review. She was also the co-president of the Animal Law Society and an Ames Moot Court Competition Semi-Finalist. She received her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in Economics and International Relations from Colgate University.
